The P-51D Mustang is the backbone interceptor fighter of the Allied Air Force. This fast and maneuverable fighter is able to track down enemy bombers, or provide close ground support with its machine guns for the engaged infantry and armoured battalions.[1]

Background[]

The P-51 Mustang saw use in World War II as a hunter, fighter-bomber and reconnaissance aircraft. This efficient plane is generally able to withstand most flying aggressors and also deal damage to most ground units with its machine guns.

Gameplay[]

  • Pros: Super-fast and nimble, the Mustang can deliver brutal strafing runs against enemy infantry and light vehicles, easily dealing with any enemy interceptor it faces.
  • Cons: Feeble against hard targets like bunkers, armoured vehicles, and buildings.
  • Bottom Line: Besides strafing incoming infantry, Mustangs are perfectly suited as escorts for fighter-bombers or bombers, or to lure AA fire away from either of them
